IIR's IMS Global Congress has firmly established itself as an invaluable networking event for IMS professionals, eager to gain insights into the latest developments and fundamental issues surrounding IMS – from migration, interoperability and standards to business models and service development.
This year sees some exciting changes to the event which promise even more value for those taking part. Firstly, IIR is making 100 free delegate passes available to operators to ensure that they can take advantage of the networking and learning opportunities available despite the current economic climate.
Secondly, in order to encourage more networking and interaction between attendees, the event will feature more informal discussion sessions and some vendor spotlight sessions.
IMS has divided opinion in recent years and, for some, the architecture has failed to deliver on its promise. However, the increasing deployment of IMS architectures by operators suggests that they have realised that it may yet deliver on that promise. IMS is still seen as the main enabler of convergence and, as both LTE and RCS emerge, it may well prove to be the right architecture to connect the IP network with the service side to create profitable new applications and services.
This year’s Congress will enable delegates to learn about the latest in IMS development and deployment and explore the technical and strategic issues that still need to be addressed to optimise operators’ IMS investment. The event will also examine how IMS is driving convergence and assess whether LTE and/or RCS will be the catalysts to unlock its full potential.
